I am an
experienced, mindful instructor with a strong background in hands-on healing prior to earning the 4-year qualification in the Feldenkrais Method. I am now a
certified Feldenkrais practitioner and guild member, with three decades of experience
in healing and a passion for helping others through guided, hands-on
methods.
I practise Yoga and Mindfulness regularly as part of my own health regime. I spend my leisure time walking my dogs, appreciating nature and watching the changing of the seasons. I am a strong believer that healing comes from the inside out, through providing the mind and body what they need to self-heal.
I have always been interested in how the mind and body work together I
believe that it all started when I was taught at a young age how to use
deep breathing and meditative techniques to calm myself when I had an
Asthma attack.
I have experienced many different types of complimentary practices, but like most people I was looking to be
fixed so I could go back to my habitual and comfortable way of
living.
I discovered the Feldenkrais Method late in life after a lower back
injury caused by carrying too many things and being in a rush. Other methods were helpful, but usually the effect was temporary. I
had heard of Feldenkrais but didn’t really understand what it was
about, in searching for a teacher, I realised that there was a gentleman in the next street to
where I live, with years of experience. Serendipity at work.
The first lesson was such a revelation to my nervous system that I was
lost for words. I was intrigued by how such a little could produce
such a lot. I continued my lessons for a good while before deciding to enrolled in training to become a teacher of the Feldenkrais Method. Four years later, and with
constant amazement, I continue to learn and practise as I teach.
